The primary purpose of this role is to assist with driving the Farm value proposition and strategy in accordance with the Commercial business plan and support Farm underwriting and operations functions to ensure professional and consistent underwriting standards and appropriate underwriting solutions are delivered to internal and external customers.
You'll be responsible for:
- Supporting the development and implementation of appropriate underwriting practices and action plans to ensure the achievement of Plan financial goals to meet both GWP and Profit objectives.
- Mentoring and coaching a high-performing and supportive team of Farm Underwriters and act as a referral point where required.
- Providing technical insight into large and complex Farm accounts, continuing to embed underwriting capability and knowledge.
- Establishing a strategic planning rhythm for pipeline and renewal opportunities with Distribution to maximise conversion and retention rates.
- Researching market conditions and trends and presenting business cases on product improvements.
- Contributing to the design of new systems, processes and procedures with a view of delivering superior underwriting functions.
- Extensive experience in an operational underwriting role in Property, Liability, or general insurance. Farm experience is desirable.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulatory and/or legislative compliance requirements that impact the organisation.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high quality services and positive customer experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base.
- Proven deep analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends, and links that inform judgements and solutions.
- Pays high attention to detail by completing tasks with thoroughness and accuracy and has the ability to quickly identify errors or inconsistencies with information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact, and influence.
