And, most importantly, do you want to work in a team that values your contribution, delivers high quality work and have fun together?As a Senior Officer – Field Inspections based in Albany, your primary responsibility is for auditing engineering works to ensure infrastructure projects are completed in accordance with Water Corporation technical and quality standards.What the role will involve:· Accountability for ensuring the construction of infrastructure assets and work conforms to contract specifications, corporate technical and quality standards and is suitable for acceptance by the Corporation· Provision technical advice for the connection of new assets to existing systems and liaison with Contractors and Operators to ensure progression of works· Monitor compliance with relevant WHS legislation and Corporate WHS procedures including conducting on-site safety inspections and as assigned, conduct contractor safety inductions prior to commencement of works· Inspect new works constructed completed by external developers and provide feedback on any issues· Convey changes to local industry when technical standards are updated.· Manage the Region’s asset protection service by providing a “one point of contact” to external parties whose proposals or projects may pose a construction risk or a physical risk to existing water, sewerage and drainage assetsKey skills and experience:Are you an experienced civil operator or plumber with great water industry experience? We are seeking someone, ideally possessing strong experience in:· The review, interpretation, and effective communication of engineering drawings, plans and specifications· Considerable experience in the field including internal inspections of access chambers and pipelines· Considerable experience in working unsupervised· Substantial knowledge of water related infrastructure assets and systems· Relevant knowledge and understanding of the Water Corporations engineering infrastructure technical and quality standards· Substantial experience in the application of WHS practicesWhy would you consider us?You’re the type of person comfortable working in a flexible but supportive workplace.
