Senior Front-End Developer

Australia has some of the world’s most intricate IR laws, making payroll complicated and compliance heavy, but incredibly important. We’ve taken on the bold challenge of automating this process, to help business owners concentrate on what they do best. 

We've created a platform that streamlines recruitment, onboarding, rostering, timesheet management, payroll, and reporting for a seamless experience.

Our Development team runs cross-functional squads, with each squad taking on a key project as well as looking after ad hoc tickets as they occur. Right now, we’re looking for a Senior Front-End developer who will be excited to work with our UX Design Lead to deliver seamless platform experiences. 

You’ll have the opportunity to grow in your role and create a sense of achievement as you enhance our component library and work with Product to ensure Users can easily engage with the features you build. We’re really good at listening to our customers, that’s what sets us apart. 

If it’s not already obvious, here’s the official list of what the role entails: 

• Take charge of our front-end development activities.
• Write clean, efficient code for both our web application and React Native apps. 
• Collaborate with tech leads, product owners, designers, and CS teams 
• Review, refine and get excited about the technical requirements. 
• Own our component library – the platform is huge, and we’re on a journey of consistency. You’ll be tasked with managing, improving and coordinating cross-functional work on this.
• Help coach our juniors – as the Front-End expert, we’d love to see your skills leveraged to improve everyone’s growth.
• Work with us to increase code quality, writing tests, performing code reviews and actively monitoring team outcomes.
• Get excited about new technologies that could help us advance – we love to improve so we’d love it if you were active in helping us explore how we can do better every-day.

• AWS (EC2, Aurora, Elasticache, WAF, ALBs, ECS, Lambda, Elasticsearch, etc.)

• Attitude is everything, and we love to see initiative and a desire to keep learning
• 5+ years’ experience in Development – particularly front-end development
• Ability to develop unit tests for components and features. 
• Experience working on a variety of software development projects. 
• Deep programming knowledge of fundamentals as well as best practices. 
• Experience mentoring others

You’ll get bonus points if you have: 

• Knowledge of Australian HR/Payroll
• Experience creating automated tests
