Senior Human Centred Design Officer

· Salary: $149,631. Package includes salary ($120,859 - $133,183), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
NSW Department of Education has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced individual to join the Data Reform team as a Senior Human Centred Design Officer.
About the role
Design and deliver exceptional human-centred experiences to support Data Reform objectives.
Our vision is for data and insights to support all our decisions so that we deliver improved outcomes for our learners, our people and the NSW education system. The Data Reform team sits with in Chief Data Office Directorate and was established in July 2022 to deliver a more inclusive and integrated data system. It has been designed to deliver enterprise-wide change in the way that data is managed, shared and turned into insights.
This role is part of our Change and Capability team and will provide expert advice and deliver a range of customer-focused designs and experiences that meet organisational objectives and goals. Apply a deep understanding of qualitative and quantitative user research and design thinking to create innovative and usable models, processes, products and services.

About you
· Develop a deep understanding of the customer using qualitative and quantitative research to enable a data-driven human-centered design approach for complex problems.
· Influence and shape product or service strategies by advocating for a human-centred approach and presenting design rationale backed by research.
· Lead the development of concepts, including the definition of customer needs, task analysis and the creation of sitemaps, process/screen flows and wireframes to meet service delivery outcomes.
· Manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure project deliverables are met.
· Make complex and technical information simple and accessible for non-technical audiences, facilitate difficult discussions within the team or with diverse stakeholders and assist with the management of collaborative processes across the organisation to support the delivery of products/services to stakeholders.
· Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s and upholding the and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
· Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
· Tertiary qualifications and/or industry experience in customer experience, data insights or related field.
· Hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment.
