About the Role

Are you a highly motivated individual with a strong foundation in hydrogeology looking for an exciting opportunity to engage in a dynamic role? If yes, the Senior Hydrogeologist may be perfect role for you!

The Senior Hydrogeologist is a dynamic role where you will leverage your technical expertise to conduct impact assessments, provide licensing and policy advice, and lead innovative water management solutions. With an opportunity to work on a diverse range of exciting water resource projects, and engage with different stakeholders, this role presents a fantastic opportunity for career advancement in a supportive team environment.

As the Senior Hydrogeologist, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage water resource projects, including water resource and source modelling assessments, demand assessments and alternative water resource studies.
  • Groundwater Impact Assessments: Review license applications and conduct technical assessments of groundwater and surface water resources, ensuring compliance and providing recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engagement with staff, customers, communities, and reference groups to enhance project outcomes.
  • Management Plan Review: Review surface water and groundwater management plans, incorporating feedback from customer reference groups to refine strategies, ensure alignment with water resource management needs, and driving continuous improvement efforts.

About you

The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate some of the desired experience and abilities below:

  • Tertiary qualification in hydrogeology or a related field.
  • Experience in water resources and geology/applied hydrogeology in industry, consultancy, or government agency.
  • Experience in water licensing and water resources planning.
  • Ability to lead engagement with staff, customers, community and stakeholders on complex water resource projects.
