The provision and supervision of high quality, evidence-based Physiotherapy Rehabilitation services to patients in the Graythwaite Rehabilitation Centre (GRC).

Employment Type: Temporary Full Time until 2 March 2025 (with possibility of ongoing employment)

Where you'll be working
Graythwaite Rehabilitation Centre, Ryde Hospital.

Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.

Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.

What you'll be doing

Coordinate the PT service in Hydrotherapy and ensure all patients receive adequate and appropriate PT care during their admission.  Apply high level clinical skills in the assessment , treatment and education of rehabilitation patients. Have a consultative role on PT Rehabilitation clinical issues. In particular, provide hydrotherapy expertise in the GRC.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Full registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience with a minimum at a Level 2 Physiotherapist.
  2. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, level 1/2 Allied Health Professionals and/or Allied Health Assistants.
  3. Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement.
  4. Demonstrated proficient skills and knowledge in the provision of current physiotherapy practice. A strong commitment to an evidence-based service to provide for consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, case management, intervention, appropriate referral and discharge planning.
