ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Intelligence Analyst will take the lead in the initial analysis of intelligence and information and will undertake and manage the more complex analysis of raw intelligence and information received, assess the relevance and accuracy of the information, and analyse the data to determine trends, patterns and highlight target areas. The Senior Intelligence Analyst will develop quality tactical, operational and strategic intelligence products for departmental decision making and will ensure the timely delivery of these intelligence products for dissemination.
Key components of the position include but are not limited to:
- Undertaking the proactive assessment and analysis of complex information and intelligence to develop intelligence products in the form of assessments, reports and advice.
- Promoting continuous improvement of Intelligence products, and ensures the delivery of timely and quality intelligence products for dissemination to the appropriate Directorates, and other agencies to assist in strategic, tactical and operational decisions.
- Providing support and advice to staff within the branch on intelligence practices, risk management and threat assessments.

We require you to submit:
- A current comprehensive CV including the contact details of two (2) referees and;
- A statement no more than two (2) pages addressing the Role Specific Criteria.
Please provide examples to support your claims.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary practices and principles that apply to intelligence functions within the criminal justice system and / or across intelligence agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the production of intelligence assessments and advice to completion within a set timeframe, with a focus on quality and existing governance processes.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent and fixed term, full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies at similar locations, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.
