What you’ll contribute to
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Internal Communications Specialist to join our People & Culture division in a Max Term role for 12 months.
The People & Culture Division is responsible for the provision of Toyota human resources, best practice advisory, learning and development services to both internal customers and external businesses. This includes, but is not limited to, Toyota employees, dealers, suppliers, vehicle importers and the broader community with the aim to becoming an outstanding employer of choice.
The Senior Internal Communications Specialist is primarily responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of policies, plans, and objectives with respect to all internal communication and stakeholder management activities to optimise Toyota’s employee engagement, public representation, and reputation.
This role is based in Altona North with flexible work arrangements on offer.
How you’ll make an impact
Lead, develop, implement, and review innovative internal communications systems, tools processes, and procedures consistent with policies to achieve agreed TMCA objectives and optimise employee engagement.
Gather, summarise, and analyse data to support communication strategies, papers, and materials.
Prepare senior executive communications, speeches, scripts, presentations, and briefing materials to support company objectives, including coordinating and facilitating select forums.
Coordinate the development and implementation of consistent communication plans across the business, aligned to Toyota’s strategic objectives. Coordinate company-wide feedback activity with recommendations and countermeasures, to facilitate company dialogue and inform decision making.
Assist various stakeholders in the development of internal communications materials including bulletins, emails, video content, intranet content, washroom posters, and communication forums to ensure aligned messaging and increase employee engagement.
Provide specialist support for the assessment and selection of agencies and other suppliers to secure delivery of services at expected quality and at optimal cost.

Degree qualification in communications, journalism, or related discipline (desirable).
Direct experience in dedicated internal communications role in a large organisation (mandatory).
Strong experience in speechwriting/creative copy writing for executive teams (mandatory).
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience using various platforms for internal communications including but not limited to SharePoint and the Microsoft suite of products.
Great attention to detail along with the ability to manage competing priorities in a timely manner.
