About the role and team
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Knowledge Lawyer to join our Legal Excellence & Risk section in Melbourne or Sydney.
Reporting to the Head of Knowledge, you will work in our highly regarded Knowledge team to provide professional support to all lawyers and partners within the national Insurance section and the broader firm. You’ll also work closely with our Client Solutions, Information Technology and Learning & Development teams.
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of work including:
  • implementing the knowledge (precedents and projects) plan for the national Insurance section, comprising the General Insurance and Statutory Insurance groups;
  • drafting and maintaining precedents;
  • developing technical improvements and progressing automation and Smarter Law solutions;
  • co-ordinating training;
  • maintaining knowledge repositories; and
  • working with the Knowledge team to support other sections as required.
Skills and experience
We are keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
  • 5+ years of post-admission experience;
  • experience in insurance law;
  • excellent document drafting skills and attention to detail;
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • the ability to prioritise and follow up tasks autonomously;
  • a keen interest in knowledge sharing, project management, precedent development, and style compliance; and
  • prior experience with, or an interest in, technology applications for document automation is desirable.
