The Role- Senior Lecturer in Networking &Data Analytics
- Full-time, on-campus position
- Melbourne CBD Campus (opposite Melbourne Central station)
This is a key academic leadership position within the Institute. The appointee will be the Leader of the discipline within the School, and be responsible for the performance of their discipline including: teaching and learning outcomes, strategic planning, external engagement, and quality assurance of units and courses. The appointee must possess strong strategic insights in education with a vision that will take MIT to higher levels. The appointee will need excellent teamwork and leadership skills which bring out the best qualities of staff and students in a multicultural, multilingual environment. The role will contribute to improving student learning outcomes and to producing outstanding graduates.

Core Responsibilities:- Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Head of School and executive management to heighten the Discipline’s profile, both internally and externally.
- Course coordination: Coordinating and directing the courses.
- Curriculum Design & Delivery: Lead in identifying, designing, and implementing cutting-edge curriculum, ensuring its relevance and excellence.
- Learning & Teaching: Implement best practices in program delivery, assessment moderation, and continuous teaching quality improvement. Teaching load 8 hours/week.
- Research & Scholarship: Lead research teams, collaborate for interdisciplinary research, and mentor junior academic staff in their research endeavors.
- Planning, Policy Development, and Compliance: Play an instrumental role in strategic planning, policy development, and ensuring adherence to academic policies and procedures.
- Student Engagement: Enhance student educational experience, address student issues, and actively participate in the Student-Staff Consultative Committee.
- External Relationships: Forge and nurture relationships with higher education providers, alumni, professional associations, and industry groups.
- Doctorate/PhD in a relevant discipline.
- Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated academic leadership in higher education, specifically in Data Analyticsand networking or related fields.
- Extensive prior experience at the level of appointment (Level C) or 5+ years experience as a Leve B lecturer .
- Proven experience in higher education curriculum development and delivery.
- Solid understanding of scholarship within a teaching-focused higher education institution.
- Clear commitment to and excellence in learning and teaching.
- Recognised national and international achievement in research at a professorial level.
- Capability for academic leadership within specific discipline(s).
