Our client owns a large sheep production operation currently joining 33,500 composite ewes for intensive prime lamb production across 4,000 Ha, spread across 8 properties near Branxholme, Victoria. The properties include 500 Ha of summer crops for grazing and 500 Ha for fodder production. Significant capital has gone into improving all new grazing paddocks with new permanent high producing rye and clover pastures divided into 20 Ha cells with laneways and managed intensively for optimum efficiency. The infrastructure includes state-of-the-art modern undercover livestock handling facilities on most properties for ease of management and new farming machinery.
Stock rotations, breeding, stock selection, and feed budgets are carefully planned and managed. Digital software such as Agri Webb is highly emphasised for recording all movements, treatments, and other operations.
We are searching for an experienced Livestock Person to work with a team to achieve key production targets within the set timeframes. Reporting to the Farm Manager, you will assist in all day-to-day duties of the properties, including livestock movements, feeding, animal husbandry, fencing and machinery and water maintenance. The successful applicant will be encouraged to start or continue training starting with the Lifetime Ewe Management program. Minimum Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience in an intensive Prime Lamb production role or with experience with sheep husbandry duties such as lambing, drenching and mustering.
- Experience managing large mobs of sheep.
- A good team of working dogs
- Ability to safely operate, maintain and repair farm plant and machinery. Experience with feedout wagons and tractor operation would be highly regarded.
- Current unrestricted car license
- Competency in record keeping, and particularly AgriWebb farming software ideal.

A generous salary, dependent on skills and experience, will be discussed with the successful candidate, including a house and work vehicle. The position is at Branxholme, 20 minutes from Hamilton, where various services are available.
