As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be supporting the Leader of AI/ML Team and be at the forefront of implementing our Machine Learning initiatives, focusing on the creation and deployment of scalable, resilient Machine Learning models and systems.
This role is pivotal in developing the ML platform and data pipelines, ensuring our technology meets the high scalability and availability demands of modern ML applications.

Day to day:

  • Develop and deploy Machine Learning models and algorithms including inference pipelines
  • Develop, optimise, and maintain e2e MLOps pipelines (full lifecycle including CI/CD, drift detection and retraining strategy) and infrastructure for ML model development, testing, and deployment
  • Support the deployment of applications on Kubernetes and manage services across various cloud environments (AKS, etc)
  • Demonstrate adaptability by quickly learning new technologies and applying them to address complex challenges
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team within a fast-paced environment
  • Manage and transform both structured and unstructured data, ensuring cleanliness and effectiveness for ML applications
  • Continuously assess and enhance the scalability, robustness, and efficiency of the big data platform
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in ML, AI, and Deep Learning, incorporating innovative technologies into our platform
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify new opportunities for applying ML solutions to business challenges across the organisation
Skills required:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and deploying ML or AI models with proven commercial success
  • At least 5 years of focused experience in Machine Learning or AI model development for commercial or industrial applications
  • A degree in Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • A dynamic problem-solver with a tenacious approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Expertise in processing large, structured, and unstructured datasets, including proficiency with time series, weather/climate data, satellite imagery, and geospatial data
  • Familiarity with various foundation models, such as LLAMA, Mistral, etc and as well as OpenAI APIs & GPT Models
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of the constraints inherent in developing commercial solutions
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud infrastructure, with a preference for candidates familiar with AzureML
  • Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras)
  • Solid experience deploying models at scale (including MLOps) in a commercial environment and a deep understanding of both supervised and unsupervised ML models.
  • Knowledgeable in alerts, monitoring, and MLOps observability
