The Climate Strategy & Commitments team defines how we fulfil this goal, and works across the Bank to deliver it. The team sits within Financial Services (FS) and collaborates closely with senior leaders across the Bank.
Key responsibilities include: strategy development (including emerging areas such as natural capital); internal & external reporting of climate-related commitments, sustainability funding and pricing framework development; measurement of our financed emissions; governance of key environmental & social activity across the Group; uplifting climate capabilities; and delivering climate scenario analysis.

As Senior Manager – Climate and Sustainable Finance Frameworks and Governance, you will report directly to the Executive Manager, Climate and Sustainable Finance Reporting. As part of your role, you will be responsible for CBA’s Sustainability Finance Framework and providing insights and recommendations on the implications for CBA of broader developments in industry standards and reporting requirements. You will have the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the business, finance and sustainability teams.
Key Responsibilities
Review of Sustainable Finance Frameworks, benchmarking and providing recommendations on approaches and industry standards to inform CBA’s eligibility for inclusion within the Sustainability Funding Target.
Secretariat and owner of approach to assessing eligibility for asset inclusion within the Sustainability Funding Target, including collaboration with key stakeholders and broader Climate and Sustainable Finance Reporting team to ensure accurate reporting.
Collaboration and partnering with the business to understand developments in Sustainable Finance activities and provide support and guidance on industry frameworks and eligibility of transactions for inclusion within Sustainability Funding Target.
Monitor developments in the Australian and international climate reporting and Sustainable Finance landscape, and helping develop the Bank’s understanding of emerging sustainability frameworks such as the International Sustainability Standards Board’s (ISSB) disclosures.
Contribute to external consultations on developments in climate and Sustainable Finance Frameworks and standards.
Ad-hoc analysis, benchmarking and research to provide senior management and the Board with transparency and insights to support decision making.

Comfort working with a level of ambiguity and ability to independently manage deliverables.
Strong project management and time management skills to support the delivery of key initiatives.
Curious mindset and active learner with an appetite to seek out developments in market practice and frameworks and provide recommendations and draw out insights.
Previous banking and/or finance experience will be highly regarded.
Audit experience preferrable.
Experience with internal/external financial reporting and/or Sustainable Finance Frameworks will be highly regarded.
High level of commercial acumen and professional judgement with an ability to deliver challenging tasks, build new processes and a desire to solve business problems, evidenced by experience in driving complex initiatives in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
8+ years of relevant professional experience
Tertiary Qualifications – hold a tertiary qualification in sustainability or an equivalent business-related discipline.
Experience in climate equivalent role or financial services experience preferred
