We are a retinal specialist practice and offer expanded scope of services including cataract surgery, macular degeneration treatments, and retinal detachment emergency care. Our practice is committed to saving sight and restoring vision and we have provided high quality eyecare over the past 20 years for patients all over Brisbane and regional areas.
Who are we looking for
We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our practice. This role is best suited for a Senior Medical Receptionist who has previous experience in a specialist private practice and possess the people skills to liase with the patients, doctors, hospitals and all stakeholders. A New Year and a New Role
This pivotal role involves exceptional front desk service to our patients and administration support to our doctors. You must have outstanding communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and professionalism. It is essential to have empathy and a caring nature.
This position would suit someone looking for a permanent part-time job achieving work life balance. Rostered hours are 4 days a week on a permanent part time basis. No weekend work. Our practice is at Wickham Terrace Brisbane. Central location with easy transport options. Practice hours are 8am-5pm Monday to Wednesday, Thursday to Friday 8am - 1pm.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Reception duties including greeting and arriving patients
- Managing calls and emails in a professional and efficient manner
- Triaging urgent referrals and enquiries
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Processing patient billing & receipting
- Preparing surgery quotes and communiating with hospitals, day surgery and anaesthetists
- Liasing with Medicare, DVA and Private Health Funds, Workcover
Skills & Attributes
- Previous experience in a private specialist practice and experience in ophthalmology highly desirable
- Equipped with proficient computer skills and experience with medical software
- Solid knowledge of clinical operation including Medicare, DVA, private health fund and WorkCover
- Outstanding communication & organisational skills and patient rapport
- Impeccable work ethics and reliability
- Capability to work independently as well as within a team
