Senior Mine Engineer

About the Role
Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, the Senior Mining Engineer will play a crucial role in the coordination, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Mine Plan within a 0-18 Month time horizon. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining the 3-Month Plan, Short Range Forecast (SRF), Dig & Dump Design, and Haulage optimization. You will review and approve Short Term Dig & Dump and Drill & Blast plans developed by Production/Mining Engineers and communicate Mine Plan outputs to ensure effective understanding and implementation. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the annual budget and 5-Year Plan, mentor and coach team members, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

About the Roster:
Monday to Friday with flexible working and travel arrangements on offer.
 

About You

• Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
• Strategic mindset with strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Technical Roles within the Mining Industry.
• Experience in Operational Planning, including short term, medium term, and long term planning.
• Highly developed skills in mining software packages and engineering practices (Vulcan, Deswik, SPRY).
• Passionate about your work, able to engage with clients and peers, and a highly motivated individual with a proactive "can do" attitude.
• Excellent planning and organizing skills, with the ability to coach/mentor junior engineers and enlist help or resources when required.
