The Role
Reporting to the Alternate Underground Mine Manager, you will enjoy providing leadership to the Surveying Team in marking out, measuring, monitoring and defining the direction of all surface and underground workings within the mining operations and for the preparation and updating of mine plans. Your duties will include; -
- Liaise with all relevant personnel for their survey requirements on a daily basis.
- Lay out and maintain survey reference marks underground for control of drive development and
- stripping, stopping, service holes, rises and diamond drilling programs.
- Survey of and computations for ore and waste volumes and stockpiles.
- Regular surveys to control major underground features (e.g. decline dimensions, gradient and directions, stope drive levels and orientations and long hole stopes).
- Maintain accurate site plans of surface and underground infrastructure.
- Assist the Production Engineers in mine design and drawing of mine instructions for issue to the underground mining personnel.
- Provide regular and timely reports to the Underground Manager on the progress of work undertaken.
- Provide accurate end of month figures to Engineers and Geologists.
- Compile accurate monthly records for all underground workings with advance and stripping progress, surface excavations and ore stockpiles.
- Ensure compliance with standards stipulated within the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995.
Your Value
- Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Surveying
- Min 5 years hard rock mining experience.
- Authorised Grade 1 WA Mine Surveyor's Certificate of Competency
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
- Computer literacy with demonstrated experience using Deswik.
- Good skills in spreadsheet, presentation, word processing and database applications.
- Strong report writing skills.
