The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, housing, community initiatives and regional services reform.
The Opportunity
Integrated Therapy Services is a multidisciplinary, specialist service designed to promote the health and wellbeing of young children with a history of developmental trauma experiences. The service provides coordinated, evidence-based prevention, early detection and early intervention services to support children’s recovery and development. Integrated Therapy Services currently operates in the South Metropolitan region.
As a Senior Occupational Therapist you will provide leadership in evidence-based practice, effective service delivery processes, and maintenance of professional standards in the provision of Occupational Therapy Services within Integrated Therapy Services.
You will also facilitate paediatric Occupational Therapy services for infants and very young children living in out-of-home care. This involves the application of high level expertise to working with young children who have physical, neurodevelopmental or mental health conditions associated with an increased probability of delays in areas of development. Assessment is a significant aspect of this role, with opportunity to provide intervention services also.
In this rewarding role, you will be assisting vulnerable young children to overcome the impact of early life adversity on their development and to achieve their full potential within a cohesive multi-disciplinary team.
