P2 Senior Occupational Therapist

0.8 FTE Monday- Thursday (Maternity leave 12 months)
An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team at Joondalup Health Campus.
About the Role
Clinically you will provide Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions within the speciality area of acute medical. This role will require a commitment to service development through quality improvement initiatives and scope of practice development. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will work within the multidisciplinary team providing care to acute medical patients and offer mentorship and clinical guidance to junior staff.
This position requires positive leadership and advanced clinical skills, providing assessment and interventions to a mixed cohort of medical patients including (but not limited to) cardiac, respiratory, endocrinology, neurology, renal, oncology, palliative and geriatric medicine. The Occupational Therapy service advocates a specific focus towards comprehensive assessments addressing strengths, limitations, functional concerns, and patient orientated goals in relation to illnesses of an acute nature in combination with associated risks from multiple complex co-morbidities.
About You (Selection Criteria)
To be successful in this role, you will meet the following selection criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA.
- Evidence of ability to identify clinically appropriate interventions within the stated clinical specialities and implement evidence-based practice into service development.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, service providers, external agencies, patients, families, and caregivers.
- Demonstrate ability to apply clinical reasoning, sound judgement and complex decision making at an advanced level of practice.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
