Details: Housing Assistance is seeking applications for a Senior Paralegal Officer (SPO). The primary role of the SPO is to assist with discovery and management of work within Client Services Branch, including:
- Provide high level legal, clerical, and administrative assistance to support the discovery and management of legal matters.
- Respond to complex and sensitive enquiries and issues relating to legal matters.
- Undertake research and assist in the preparation of court documents and briefs.
- Prepare complex submissions, policy papers, executive briefings, and high-level correspondence, as required.
- Assist legal staff in matters proceeding in court including co-ordinating arrangements with witness, locating, and preparing lists of authorities and preparation of evidence.
- Review legislative actions, statutory instruments, and delegations (including supporting documents) to ensure accuracy and consistency with relevant legislation and related drafting standards.
- Work in accordance with, and uphold the ACT Government Respect, Equity and Diversity Framework and the Directorate’s Work Health and Safety system.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
- Experience with drafting primary and subordinate legislation is desirable.
- Legal qualification or extensive experience in a legal discipline are highly desirable.
