The Opportunity: 

Urbis has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Senior People & Culture consultant to join our team in Melbourne on a 18-month fixed term contract.

With a thorough understanding of human resource practices and principles, you will seamlessly deliver top-notch HR services, offering solution-focused advice to elevate business performance and employee experience.

This role is a true generalist HR role working in collaboration with the broader, national P&C team to spearhead strategic HR initiatives and support Urbis' brightest minds to shape better cities and communities!

You will:

  • Provide HR support to assist with the day-to-day operations of our Victorian offices (Melbourne and Geelong) across the full employment lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, providing best practice HR advice when resolving HR/Employee Relations issues
  • Work with the broader P&C team to deliver people initiatives and projects that enhance employee performance, engagement, retention productivity and talent attraction
  • Partner with Directors and line managers to support their business strategies from a HR perspective Contribute to the development, review and practical application of HR policies that enable and sustain a high performance culture
  • Proactively coach and advise leaders on a wide range of people matters, informed by Company and Business Unit objectives and commercial and legal considerations
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of workplace health & safety (WHS) and wellbeing programs across the company.

About you:

  • A working knowledge of employment practices and legislation is essential
  • Minimum 8 years' work experience in a similar HR generalist role, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Tertiary and/or post graduate qualification in Business or Human Resources Management
  • A flexible mindset and strong influencing skills
