About the role
This is an opportunity to join CALHN Pharmacy in a Senior Pharmacist role. A new Emergency Department is opening at TQEH in July 2024 and these roles will support the expansion of the clinical pharmacy service currently provided. This is a seven-day, extended hours (8:45am to 9pm) service rostered across three shifts per day that supports patient and medication safety through patient-centred care and interdisciplinary collaboration. The new ED will have an increased number of treatment spaces included dedicated behaviour assessment unit and short-stay unit with a new ICU and operating theatres opening at the same time. There will be opportunities to develop the role through extended hours and extended scope which suits the needs of the patients and interdisciplinary team. You will apply critical thinking to the clinical decision making process and have a high level of attention to detail with a commitment to your own professional development and learning. More broadly you will be part of CALHN Pharmacy with access to the full range of expertise available in our dispensing, electronic medication management, manufacturing, investigational drugs, clinical, and medication governance teams.
Responsible for the organisation, management and operation of the designated pharmacy area. The provision of a comprehensive high-level range of pharmacy services, to exercise independent and autonomous judgement in the provision of pharmacy services, medicines information and therapeutic advice to patients of the hospital as well as medical and nursing staff and other health professionals in accordance with hospital and divisional policies and procedures and professional standards and guidelines relating to pharmacy practice. The optimisation of outcomes for patients by implementing strategies to achieve the best possible quality use of pharmaceuticals in a safe and cost-effective manner and in accordance with hospital policy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
