A great opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Policy and Regulatory Affairs Advisor to join this prominent organisation.
We are seeking a high achiever who is interested in challenging and rewarding policy and regulatory projects.
Responsibilities of the role include -
Preparing policy submissions and advocating to government representatives in support of organisational goals
Identify, establish and maintain high level relationships with government, key stakeholder group representatives, members of the business community and other stakeholders to protect and develop the interests of the organisation
Provide strategic advice and secretariat support to committees and working groups as required
Contribute to the development of business planning and strategy development for the Regulation & Policy Team
To be successful in the role you will have the following -
A tertiary qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline – legal, financial, management or policy
5 years + experience in policy development, ideally in the prudential, financial regulation, taxation or competition law fields.
In addition, the individual should also possess the following competencies:
Significant experience working in public affairs with a focus on interpreting and influencing policy
In-depth understanding of government policy and legislation processes
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including the ability to influence and persuade key government stakeholders
Established interpersonal skills and experience in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders to achieve objectives
Experience writing policy briefs, submissions, reports and responses to government
Experience and high-level skills that are effective in advocating, negotiating and influencing senior government representatives
Extensive demonstrated knowledge and experience in the proactive research, development, formulation and analysis of public policy
High-level research, policy development and critical analysis skills. A capacity to quickly assess and understand complex issues
