About the Role
As the Senior Portfolio Support Officer and ExecutiveAssistant to the Chancellor, you will be responsible for coordinating a range of complex administrative and organisational tasks and functions for and on behalf of the Chancellor.
Located at Flinders' brand new City Campus, renowned as the most modern university campus in South Australia, this position also plays a vital role in providing executive support and assisting in the oversight of the Executive Office at Flinders City Campus, including all executive service delivery at that location.
Some of the key responsibilities of the position are:

  • Coordinating a spectrum of administrative and organizational tasks on behalf of the Chancellor and the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.
  • Researching and providing advice and information on complex matters.
  • Monitoring correspondence flow and preparing draft responses, background materials, notes and presentations.
  • Email and calendar management.
  • Coordinating reception duties, executive support and Executive Office management at Flinders City Campus.
  • Preparing, editing, and distributing professional-standard written material, including correspondence, reports, and presentations.
  • Providing executive support for staff meetings, committees, and working parties, including scheduling, managing diaries, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and undertaking follow up work as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a commitment to high quality outcomes, possessing exceptional attention to detail and the ability to collate and analyse information from a range of sources.
Some of the key position capabilities of the role include:
  • Well-developed written communication skills for preparing correspondence, agendas, minutes, briefs, and other documents.
  • Strong, effective, and diplomatic interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage with staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-level administrative services, exercising judgement, initiative, and confidentiality in support of the Chancellor and senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work autonomously to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.
