Based on the southside of Brisbane, River Sands is a diversified building materials business operating two factories and a sand quarry together with an extensive distribution network around Australia.
Established for over 45 years, this growing business manufactures and packs a wide range of mortars, sand, cement and landscape blends in 20kg and one tonne bulk bags for distribution to the building, mining, concrete, civil and landscape industries around the country. We operate an array of specialist processing, drying, batching and packaging equipment and have just completed a five-year factory and batching plant upgrade project installing the most up to date European made integrated high speed process lines.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Production Supervisor to drive the daily output of one or more specialist packing lines plus oversee the operations of other production areas.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Optimising the daily output and performance of the specialist render, mortar and screed production packing line.
- Mentoring and leading an experienced production team with a focus on identifying and actioning continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
- Collaborating with Inventory Control to achieve efficient staging of raw materials.
- Embedding and improving safe and clean working practices to enhance operational efficiencies and the working environment.
- Working alongside the maintenance and engineering team to drive world class OEE.
- Contributing to equipment upgrade projects to increase production output.
- Safety and quality performance in operations under your supervision.
About You

To be successful in this role, ideally you will possess:
- 5 - 10 years supervisory experience within an automated FMCG or high-volume materials handling production environment.
- Experience with PLC’s, automated packaging equipment and processes.
- Strong leadership, communication and coaching skills that energise and bring the best out of your staff
- A desire and willingness to be hands-on and understand the detail of your role
- A full understanding and record in identifying and implementing lean initiatives
- Good planning and administrative skills
- Although not essential, Trade or Tertiary Qualifications would be well regarded

The successful candidate will commence with the business on afternoon shift Monday to Thursday 1pm - 10pm and Friday 12noon - 6pm.
