AddressWe are seeking a Senior Progress DBA to design manage monitor and document complex Progress database environments to enhance banking applications.
Working for a large national mortgage provider of home loans you will be developing new banking features and monitoring and maintaining all environments across the platform. You will optimize performance through a change control process to achieve further automation and system enhancements.
You will need a have a strong 4GL programming experience and Linux scripting capabilities and understanding enterprise infrastructure and networking.
Your role will have you completing the following -
- Development of new code for legacy systems and creating new workflows
- development of an internal banking system 20 years old.
- Configuration and support the applications
- Providing support and development of existing classic Windows AppServers and OE Replication on multiple Linux based instances which run 24x7x365
- Analysis and maintenance of Linux scripting to support the OE systems.
- Strong trouble shooting skills
- Proactively monitor databases and system health and performance and recommend changes to enhance overall system performance and health
- Understanding and clarifying business and technical requirements including functional and non-functional requirements
- Presenting designs to team and customer, including contributing to proposals
- Provide development and deployment estimates for project schedules.
- Ensure code is built to agreed standards and processes.
- Timely and appropriate escalation of issues.
- Automate and enhance development processes in accordance with DevSecOps principles.
We are seeking people with Progress DBA experience, strong problem solving skills and ability to learn new systems being incorporated into the business including new technologies.
