Senior Project Controls Engineer - Mining Sector Opportunity
Drake Trades and Technical is excited to collaborate with a forefront leader in the mining industry, seeking to appoint an accomplished Senior Project Controls Engineer. Positioned within the Capital Works Projects Team, this pivotal role concentrates on the execution of substantial capital works projects throughout the site. We are offering an exceptional Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) opportunity based in Queensland, operating on an 8/6 roster, designed for those looking to significantly influence major mining infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and refine project control systems and strategies utilizing Pronto, to ensure precise monitoring of project timelines, budgets, and expenses.
- Direct all aspects of contract management, from formulation and negotiation to oversight and conclusion, aligning with project objectives and adhering to legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Manage the commercial aspects of projects, focusing on cost containment, financial projections, and risk assessment, to protect the project's financial integrity.
- Foster collaboration with project managers, engineers, and the procurement team to guarantee cohesive and effective project execution.
- Conduct detailed analysis and reporting on project metrics, identifying deviations, and proposing remedial actions to maintain project congruence.
- Enhance communication and reporting channels to keep all stakeholders apprised of project developments, potential risks, and opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement in Project Controls practices by integrating learned lessons and industry best practices to elevate project efficiency and success.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar discipline.
- At least 10 years' experience in Project Controls within mining, construction, or relevant industries, with a deep focus on contract and commercial management.
- Proficiency in Pronto and other project management tools, with a proven ability in financial oversight and reporting.
- A solid history of steering projects to completion, demonstrating outstanding capabilities in planning, scheduling, estimating, and managing risks.
