Senior Project Engineer

Lead Civil infrastructure projects with a local NT Contractor!

Your new company 

Our client, a successful local Civil Contractor, is recruiting an experienced Civil Project Engineer to work on various infrastructure projects in the Darwin area and regional Northern Territory. Projects will mainly involve road construction and upgrade works and new subdivision developments.

Your new role 

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be the technical lead for the delivery of infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for developing the construction programs and monitoring the execution of projects to ensure they meet the required standards, are delivered on time and to budget while satisfying the needs of the client and company. This is a full-time Permanent role based in Darwin.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Development of project scope of work and construction programs.
• Management of the project procurement and resourcing.
• Implementation and management of quality control documentation.
• Management and monitoring of subcontractors’ scope of work. 
• Generation and submission of project variations. 
• Monitor the delivery of project according to project design drawings and specifications, and quality and safety requirements.
• Quantity/volume and cost analysis, and assistance with tender submissions.

What you'll need to succeed 

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience in a Civil Engineer or Project Engineer role working on Civil infrastructure projects (road construction, subdivision development, bulk earthworks) in Australia.
• Strong ability to read and interpret contract documents and project drawings.
• Experience with subcontract management.
• Experience with survey equipment and survey software, as well as AutoCAD and various 3D software.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
