We're currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer with civils experience to bolster our delivery team. Working on the interface zone around Watsonia station you will join an experienced Construction Manager and help guide and develop the junior engineers whilst ensuring the civils package is delivered as expected and the project keeps to time, cost and quality standards.
The Project
This package of works covers the design and construction of the North East Link between the M80 - Plenty Rd interchange, and the north tunnel entrance at Watsonia. Works include three kilometres of new freeway, two kilometres of freeway upgrades, construction of retaining walls and bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, and urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.
Scope
- Shotcrete and ground anchors and general earth retention
- Structures including retaining walls - cast in-situ and precast
- Utilities - gas, electrical, drainage, communications and water.
- FCR pavements and road construction
Responsibilities
- As an onsite project team ensure the project is delivered to overall program to cost & time with resources needed leading to a high level of client satisfaction
- Assist in set up and creation of documentation and systems for quality, safety, environmental,
- Lead client/contractor meetings especially in the PM's absence
- Identification and assessment of risk to the project as well as implementation of strategies to mitigate risk
- Use your technical skills to resolve design challenges and identify Value engineering opportunities
- Assist in development and implementation of the master program
- Contracts & commercial responsibilities on the project
- Cost and forecast control to assist the project managers
- Lead, develop and manage large project teams as well as stand in for project manager when they are away
- Work across various civil packages not limited to earthworks, roads, rail, structures, pavements, utilities dependent on your expertise and project need's
Required Skills
- You will have a degree in civil/structural/mechanical engineering or similar
- You will have extensive experience on site working on a range of civil packages.
- Ideally you will be able to manage, drive and develop the master program as well as display a high level of competency around contracts/financial management & team leadership
- Well-developed communication skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of subcontractors, local authorities, internal staff and clients
