Senior Project Officer

About the role:

Reporting to the Manager Fleet Branch, Victoria Police is seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to manage and guide our Fleet Strategy and Innovation Unit. You will lead a team of Project Officers and take ownership of key strategic deliverables, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and clients to achieve goals benefitting the Victorian community.

Your duties will include:

• Use visionary thinking to guide fleet uplift projects from conception to delivery, shaping the future of fleet delivery and utilisation.
• Remain up to date with industry-leading practices, methodologies, and products with continuous improvement of Victoria Police fleet in mind.
• Prepare and deliver reports and recommendations to senior executive in relation to fleet project deliverables.
• Manage direct reports, and guide collaborative projects according to the wider strategic direction of the Operational Infrastructure Department.
• Fostering collaborative engagement with other Fleet Branch work units.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in leading a team, especially in the achievement of common objectives.
• Demonstrated project management experience in the timely delivery of products to a dynamic customer base.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information in easy-to-understand language.
• A strong commitment to supporting the Operational Infrastructure Department 2022 – 2026 Strategy by actively driving the customer centric, innovative, and collaborative goals, continuously finding new ways to improve our service.

Requirements and relevant information:

• One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
• This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
• Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
• The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
