Job description

Autopak-Vetlab Group is an Australian-owned contract manufacturer of agricultural and animal health products based in Western Sydney. We are looking for an experienced Senior Purchasing Officer to join our busy Supply Chain team.

About the role:

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated and detail-oriented and enjoy working in a dynamic team environment. 

Key tasks include:

  • Utilise the ERP system to run and execute the MRP relating to the supply of materials. Ensuring that all critical data indicators are reviewed as part of the process including but not limited to Order Multiples, Lead Times, Safety Stock, Pricing and KPI’s.
  • The placement of Purchase Orders, their approvals and maintenance from Vendors, Customers and Freight Forwarders. Liaising with Planning and Logistics teams to provide inbound notifications and any changes to the plan.
  • Update and facilitate the management of Safety Stock for all inbound Materials.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on stocks levels and purchase analysis with the aim of establishing continuous improvement and cash flow visibility
  • Review and report pricing movements, opportunities and negotiations as required. Including budget updates and specific review requirements.
  • Assist in the sourcing of new materials as directed by any new projects, vendor changes, or customer driven changes
  • Work with Vendors and Accounts Payable to resolve any invoice delays or discrepancies.
  • Maintain a professional and visible working scenario both internally and externally. Including regular meetings with key Vendors to discuss any potential issues, but not limited to, things such as future demand, performance, issue resolution, pricing, etc.
  • Maintain ERP data accuracy by reviewing all key data as well as entering key Purchase related fields into the system
  • Provide support and training as required to ensure the continuity of the Purchasing role.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in a Purchasing/Planning environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications or APICS (similar professional certification) would be well regarded.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (BC) preferred or similar ERP system
  • Detail-oriented and highly organised with strong analytical skills for data interpretation.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in collaborating and/or developing an S&OP environment.
  • Background in Chemical, Pharmaceutical or Industrial ingredients would be an advantage
  • Ability to work on multiple projects or issues simultaneously.
