About the Role

This is a Senior QE role, where you will be part of our 2000+ strong team of testers experts across Australia and have the opportunity to travel around Australia on short assignments. Ideally you will already be in Australia with full working rights and have local experience with a short notice period.

As a Senior Quality Engineer, we expect you to possess a high level of knowledge and exposure across various software development lifecycle models and have the ability to accelerate quality with the application of appropriate tools and approaches. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential as you will be frequently guiding people on testing related topics, and reporting on all elements of the test process and phases.

You will be required to demonstrate a breadth of experience working in a testing / Quality Engineering role, including the day-to-day activities of this job - test analysis and improvement, design and review, execution, defect management, reporting, leading small teams, contributing to planning and estimation, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Review requirements for testability
• Contribute to test plans and other high level documentation where required
• Collaborate with clients for user and systems requirements when documentation is insufficient
• Identify test conditions/ test objectives and derive test cases using advanced test techniques
• Identify and apply tools to assist with the acceleration of quality
• Create comprehensive test assets in the appropriate tools relevant to test conditions
• Utilise appropriate tools to execute test cases and report results
• Raise, track and close defects
• Set up a defect lifecycle process when required
• Report results as required to managers across the business
• Capable of working with Agile methodologies, collaborating with and across teams as required.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Experienced in traditional, iterative or Agile development practices
• Ability to work collaboratively with developers and other project members
• Possess in-depth experience as a senior test engineer in all areas of the SDLC
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Strong test experience in all areas of the SDLC, including system, SIT or UAT
• Collaborating with developers, business analysts and users to understand testing needs and identify automation opportunities
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of test quality by undertaking reviews and recommending improvements
• Possess a solid understanding of modern application deployment methodologies and cloud infrastructure
• Can effectively adapt to workload and issues to maintain momentum
• Experienced with system and system integration testing

Desirable skills and experience

• Experience in API and SQL testing
• Experience in automation, performance and/or other forms of technical testing
• ISTQB Foundation/Advanced Test Analyst and Certified Agile Tester accreditation
