Senior Registrar/Registrar Emergency Medicine

The Position:
We are currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced Emergency Medicine Senior Registrars/Registrars to join a dedicated team.

• Senior Registrar – $170,648 - $179,180 per annum, plus 11% superannuation
• Registrar - $117,083   to $160,639 per annum, plus 11% superannuation

Emergency Department:

• 48-bed department
• 75,000 presentations per year with an admission rate of approximately 30%.
• FACEM-lead team-based care.
• Excellent, varied case-mix providing a broad clinical experience, including paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology.

Training Opportunities:

• Accredited for 18 months Emergency Medicine with ACEM.
• Paediatric logbook accredited.
• Designated non-clinical FACEMs Monday to Friday to supervise WBAs.
• 4 hours weekly protected teaching time.
• ACEM Primary and Fellowship Exam preparation programs.
• Regular non-clinical time to participate in departmental activities.
• One-on-one bedside ultrasound teaching by a certified Sonographer to gain skills in AAA and eFAST and fulfil CCPU requirements.

Access to non-ED rotations including anaesthetics, intensive care, paediatrics and general medicine.

Opportunity to attend Hospital based courses including Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), ALS 2, Practical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training course (PROMPT) and biannual accredited Ultrasound Course.

The successful candidate will have:

• General registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or Provisional Registration.
• Demonstrated clinical and procedural experience in an equivalent ED setting
• Min 3 years of ED experience

The Hospital:
With a total of 367 beds, 307 for public patients and 60 for private patients, the hospitals will be conveniently located within one complex, bringing health care closer to home. The public hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities will deliver newer and expanded services than those currently provided.
