About the Role

The primary purpose of the Senior Release Manager role is to lead the planning and delivery of iterative releases on the Salesforce platform. The Senior Release Manager plays a critical role, being the ‘glue’ for major as well as minor releases through the end-to-end lifecycle covering roadmap planning, requirements, development, integration / UA testing and go-live. This role also has accountability for Test Management, including line management of QA Testing resources.

Key Duties

Test Management

  • Develop and maintain the high-level Test Strategy and Test Designs for System Integration and User Acceptance testing.
  • Ensure test scripts are defined, documented, and kept up to date.
  • Lead test execution, implementing a robust defect management process and reporting on testing outcomes.
  • Develop a test automation CoE, enhancing testing capability through improvements to coverage, testing quality and cycle time.

Release Management

  • Define, plan, coordinate and communicate the forward release calendar with their individual scope items covering business functionality / technical deployments.
  • Coordinate the delivery of minor and major release items into multiple production and non-production environments ensuring adherence to a consistent, repeatable, streamlined release and governance processes.

Ensure hypercare and transition processes are implemented with adequate go-live support and knowledge transfer.

  • Engage stakeholders appropriately to build and maintain healthy, professional relationships across the organisation and within IT.
  • Take accountability for and demonstrate ongoing progress on self-development of desired behaviours, sector and platform knowledge.

About You

You are passionate and will ideally bring the following:

  • Ability to tailor release management processes to organisational needs; taking a flexible, risk-based approach to delivery.
  • Strong demonstrated experience with large scale and complex system releases, involving significant business process and role change.
  • Knowledge of Test Management processes and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and build trusted relationships with remote / distributed Business and Technology teams.
  • Good communication and mediation skills, and the ability to liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders with a consultative approach where there may be conflict.
  • Pragmatic and decisive in balancing conflicting priorities and trade-offs, with the ability to switch between the detail and the big picture.
  • Alignment and commitment to Baptcare’s Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related.
  • 7+ years’ experience in coordinating concurrent releases as part of a hybrid Scaled Agile / Waterfall delivery process within a large organisation and multi-service line platform.
  • Experience working within a complex, dynamic and changing technical environment with a variety of systems, applications, and interfaces.
  • Experience of Test Management on a multi-service line platform.
  • Agile PM / Release experience (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and with associated tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
  • Experience coordinating Salesforce releases, DevOps operations.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD and automated Testing tools such as Gearset/Git, AccelQ.
  • Knowledge of Aged Care, Disability or Community Services sectors.
