Job description

 Finance Officers (Multiple APS Levels)

Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage Finance Officers (Multiple APS Levels) on a contract for 6 months with 6 months extension option.

Key duties/tasks:

  • allocate work to team members, using judgement to match issue complexity and employee capability, and reduce peaks and troughs in workload
  • assist in the mentoring and training of new staff to build knowledge and capability
  • assist with asset management
  • cost proposals and initiatives as required
  • draft a range of written material including business cases, reports, executive briefs and corporate documentation
  • escalate issues that adversely impact on policy, performance and/or service
  • establish, manage and provide financial management advice to internal and external stakeholders to improve the financial management and operations in the agency
  • exercise appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines
  • maintain up to date knowledge of agency related legislation, policy and processes and transfer knowledge to other team members
  • undertake financial administration across the division’s cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals
  • undertake weekly, end of month and end of financial year SAP FI system rollover activities and provide assistance to users of SAP FI as required.
