Senior Research Analyst - Corrections Research, Evaluation & Statistics - Clerk Grade 9/10, Sydney
Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10 ($116,211- $128,061) + Superannuation + Annual Leave Loading

Your role
We are in need of an experienced Senior Research Analyst to manage the conduct of complex research and evaluation projects in line with key CSNSW operational objectives.
As the Senior Research Analyst, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Assist Senior Executives and Managers in developing an evidence base for CSNSW practices and strategic objectives
- Lead and be supported by Research Analysts in your role in generating and communicating advanced data and statistical findings to diverse audiences
- Undertake and develop large scale research, analysis and evaluation of statistical data
- Present complex statistical findings to a non-technical audience
- Be involved with multiple projects
- Design and develop definitions and counting rules for key performance and outcome indicators, and methods of managing and clearly articulating information for management review.
- Manage the conduct of performance review of established organisational targets / objectives and associated quantitative indicators
What we're looking for
- Extensive experience in developing and conducting research and evaluation projects at all stages
- Qualifications in social or behavioural sciences
- Experience in managing complex datasets and conducting quantitative and / or qualitative statistical analyses using your expertise in programs such as SPSS, R, NVivo, and Excel
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills that allow you to manage multiple projects, both individually and with the support of Research Analyst staff
- Ability to maintain positive stakeholder relationships and meet stringent timelines
- Qualifications in behavioural / social sciences or statistics with a strong research component.
- Current NSW driver's license and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role.
- Ability to travel at short notice and work from NSW country locations for short periods on an intermittent basis
The Department of Communities and Justice delivers legal, court and supervision services to the people of NSW by managing courts and justice services, implementing programs to reduce crime and re offending, managing custodial and community-based correctional services, protecting rights and community standards and advising on law reform and legal matters.
Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce the risk of re-offending and enhance public safety. It serves a key function of the NSW Justice sector by providing effective, safe and humane management of offenders both in custody and in the community CSNSW also works in partnership with other government and community agencies to ensure that offenders and their families are supported.
Corrections Research, Evaluation and Statistics (CRES) is a centralised information and evidence unit within CSNSW. We support the delivery of high-quality, evidence based correctional services by connecting theoretical and empirical evidence with the practice of corrections. We also provide leadership and expertise in applied research, operational insights and correctional system analysis, which allows us to contribute to the positive transformation of people in prison and supervised in the community.
