We are looking for an experienced Senior Research Fellow to join our team at Goldfields University Department of Rural Health, Kalgoorlie.
• $134,904 - $155,293 (ALC) pro-rata plus 17% superannuation
• Fixed term (3 years), full-time or part-time | possibility of extension

Your new role
We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Research Fellow (SRF) to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of rural research. As an SRF, you will have the opportunity to engage in multifaceted work, including independent research aligned with the needs of our stakeholders, as well as collaborative efforts within our department and with national and international rural researchers.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of research leadership, providing valuable guidance in conceptualising, designing, and implementing research projects. Your expertise will be crucial in mentoring higher degree students and early career researchers, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in rural health and wellbeing, and making a tangible impact on policy and practice through scholarly publications.

Selection Criteria
• A doctoral qualification in relevant discipline.
• An established record of research outputs in high-quality refereed academic journals/ consistent with the discipline.
• Evidence of an established national reputation and growing international profile and a record of obtaining research income, including nationally competitive research grants and/or fellowships.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead major research initiatives, provide mentoring to less experienced staff and supervise HDR students.
• Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
• Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
Work Requirements
The role requires an academic with a proven body of rural health research. The position will be of interest to those with a health, social science, anthropological, or educational background.
• Occupants of this position will be required to undertake a criminal record check in accordance with the University's Criminal Record Screening Procedure.
• Interstate and/or overseas travel may be required.
• Possess a current valid drivers licence
