ABOUT ADZ ENERGY

ADZ Energy is an Exploration and Production company focused on the discovery, development and production of world class gas and associated liquids resources, delivering to the East Coast Domestic Gas Market.

We operate the Kincora Gas Plant, currently producing 4TJ/d, with a well intervention and drilling program in place to increase production to 12TJ/d in the short term and to 25TJ/d in the long term.

ADZ Energy will remain focused on accelerating gas and liquids production from its Kincora Gas Project in Queensland. The Group’s portfolio includes high-quality oil and gas prospects across multiple basins with a range of project maturity that will realise near-term value accretion and mid- to long-term transformational growth across its Northern Territory, Victoria and South Australia jurisdictions

POSITION PURPOSE

As our Reservoir Engineer, you will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for managing and developing an Operating asset. You will be responsible for conducting technical studies and providing technical recommendations related to Subsurface projects.

Your primary accountabilities will include generating production forecasts, optimising recovery and future development. You will be supporting operations, reservoir management, and assessment of reserves and resources. You will work closely with other members of the team to ensure that production targets are met, and that the reservoir is managed in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Your role will involve the application of RESERVOIR ENGINEERing principles. This will include conducting reservoir simulations, analysing production data and monitoring well performance. You will also be responsible for identifying and evaluating opportunities to enhance production and improve recovery.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong technical background in RESERVOIR ENGINEERing, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You should be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Overall, your role as a Reservoir Engineer will be critical in ensuring the successful management and development of the Operating asset, and you will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to the overall success of the team and the company.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with Subsurface, Projects and Operations in maintaining and providing necessary data for well, reservoir studies and reviews.
  • Analysis of reservoir, production and workover data to develop insights to optimise recovery plans, including new well locations.
  • Integrate subsurface data such as production, pressures and fluid data to present meaningful insights using industry visualisation tools. Perform quality checks and connect with relevant stakeholders for verification.
  • Develop data acquisition plans and use the results to develop projects to increase recovery efficiency.
  • Support with Reserves estimation and classification, Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) based Production Forecasting and MBAL Modelling.
  • Provide support on necessary reports and workflows for the annual Reserves and Business Plan to inform critical stakeholders ranging from government agencies and internal Reserves Assurance to ensure compliance.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders including Subsurface, Projects and Operations, ensure all business assumptions are incorporated into forecasting schedules and development plans. 
  • Be a team player and assist other colleagues in processes and workflows as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required Formal Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Geoscience, Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or relevant, with 15+ years of industry experience.
  • 5+ experience in any one of the areas: Field Development Planning, Reservoir Studies, Reservoir Simulation (Eclipse), Production Forecasting, Annual Reserves Reporting.

Desirable Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Personal Attributes

It is desirable that the incumbent is able to demonstrate experience and/or knowledge in the following:

  • Sound understanding of various data types such as production, injection, fluid, pressure, reservoir properties.
  • Good Data Management skills in identifying data sources, analysing large datasets efficiently and able to derive insights quickly and integrate with other discipline inputs to form a credible view.
  • Skills in data analysis, data integration, visualisation (using Spotfire) and programming languages (Python) are added advantages.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and presentation skills, good team player; enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams including Geology, Operations and Commercial.
  • Self-starter / self-motivation and ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing, to various audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey a professional and positive image of the business.
