The role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Respiratory Scientist to assist the Clinical Directors in the planning and management of the operation and development of a Lung Function Laboratory for Tasmanian Health Service- North West, located at North West Regional Hospital (NWRH), providing an accredited service which is in accordance with Department requirements and national standards.
Reporting to the Clinical Directors, this role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including, but not limited to provide safe, high quality and compassionate patient care in delivery of laboratory operations, staff training, performance of routine and complex testing, and participation in educational and research activities.
Do you have:
Knowledge and experience in a respiratory function unit or similar environment.
Knowledge of, and experience in, respiratory function testing and equipment, including the practice of arterial blood gas testing and venepuncture.
Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, high level interpersonal skills and the ability to work without direct supervision.

The Hospital:
- The NWRH has a fully equipped lung function laboratory
- The position is supported by the staff specialist in respiratory medicine
- The laboratory performs adult and paediatric lung function tests.
Details of Appointment
Fixed term part time day worker position working 38 hours per fortnight commencing from June 2024 until February 2026

Salary: $106,966 - $123,013 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,573 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
- Salary range is in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement no.2 of 2022
