About the Program:
AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
About the role:
- Review systems, associated support equipment and facilities, functional specifications and operations, and establish safety requirements for assigned systems
- Independently analyse and recommend safety criteria
- System design, equipment and procedures to control or eliminate hazards
- Develop AIR6500 safety documents as required to support customer and test requirements
- Report on effectiveness of the System Safety Program
- Participate in AIR6500 accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities, and assist in the identification of causes and corrective action
About You:
- Significant experience with relevant technologies and domains
- Significant professional experience in system Safety Engineering and understanding of application of formal methods and techniques
- Significant experience across the Systems Engineering (SE) lifecycle, and familiarity with SE methods, tools and techniques
- Significant experience in System Safety Engineering Management, risk management and business improvement methodologies
- Significant computer literacy with ability to produce, analyse, and interpret complex reports and management information
- Significant experience working in an engineering project environment
