The Opportunity
A full time position has become available for an experienced scientific officer to join our Clinical Diagnostics Department. Following already established protocols, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and/or further their skills both clinically and within a leadership environment. Someone with extensive knowledge and experience in clinical Biochemistry/Immunoassay testing would suit this position.
Day to Day duties include:
- Training and Supervision of staff
- Ensuring compliance and quality of systems within the department are maintained
- Monitoring of workflow and performance outcomes
- Ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained
- Promote and display our values
- Provide advice and clinical interpretation for Biochemistry/Immunoassay
- Consult with Clinical Pathologists as required
Applicants should possess the following:
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Laboratory Medicine or similar
- Minimum five years’ experience in related field
- Sound knowledge of WHS processes within a clinical pathology laboratory
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem solving skills
- A sound understanding of NATA accreditation requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal (communication) skills
- A positive attitude
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable

Salary Range: $48.10 - $52.58 per hour depending on experience.
