CMC are hiring! We have a brand new permanent opportunity for a Senior Scrip Settlements Administrator to join our Business Operations department, based in our Barangaroo, Sydney office.
Please note that we operate onsite working and would need someone to come into our Barangaroo office 5 days per week.
This position is only open to Sydney based candidates with full working rights (e.g. Permanent Resident/Citizen).

CMC Markets Stockbroking provides retail and wholesale stockbroking services including trading, clearing and settlement of transactions. Services are provided to a large base of retail clients, as well as customers of several banking and financial partners through a white label service offering.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Stockbroking Scrip team is responsible for settlement of domestic equity transactions, DVP’s, processing of CHESS related tasks and corporate actions. The role is primarily administration focussed as well providing support to the wider business. Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to pick up new concepts quickly are critical to this role. International cross training will be encouraged at a later stage.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is team based, where the successful applicant can expect to be working on the following tasks, subject to the direction/requirements of the team on a day-to-day basis:

  • Covering CHESS market obligations: Ensure compliance with CHESS market obligations and regulations.
  • Broker-to-Broker transfer of CHESS Holdings and HINs: Facilitate the secure transfer of CHESS holdings and Holder Identification Number (HINs) between brokers.
  • CHESS Conversions: Process conversions from Issuer-sponsored to/from CHESS sponsored securities.
  • DVP Settlements/Margin Lending Settlements: Process Delivery Verses Payment (DVP) settlements and margin lending settlements.
  • Corporate Actions and Takeovers/Buy Backs: Coordinate and process corporate actions, takeovers, and buybacks, including market protections.
  • Off Market Transfers: Process off-market transfers efficiently and accurately.
  • Sponsored CHESS Holdings Management: Process sponsored CHESS holdings and ensure their smooth operation.
  • Options Collateral Management: Process options collateral and ensure accurate management.
  • MFunds on ASX: Process Mutual Funds (MFunds) on the ASX platform.
  • Monitoring of Trades and Suspense Accounts: Keep a vigilant eye on trade bookings and suspense accounts, taking action as needed.
  • ASX Bookbuild and IPO Lead Technical Manager: Processing ASX Bookbuilds and IPOS
  • Testing and Implementing New Products and Software Upgrades: Assist with the testing and implementation of new products and software upgrades, including ASX/CHESS upgrades and GBST upgrades.
  • Review and Release of System Applications: Assist with the review and releasing of system applications.
  • Writing and Implementing Procedures: Maintain and update operational procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Seeking Process Improvements through Automation: Proactively seek opportunities to streamline and automate processes, potentially using robotics.
  • Assist the Scrip Manager and Operations Manager to ensure team members can perform their roles by providing them with training for efficient delivery of the team’s process.
  • Implementing plans, developed with management, to ensure performance of the team is at necessary levels and take action to address unsatisfactory performance if required.
  • Provide pro-active input and expertise to team’s procedures.
  • Contribute to the development, coaching and mentoring of more junior members of the team.
  • Act as a point of contact for addressing and resolving issues related to Scrip Settlements operations.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
  • Prior Stockbroking industry experience with equity and /or options processing.
  • Familiar with ASX rules and compliance requirements for CHESS sponsored and processes.
  • Knowledge of CHESS market obligations and regulations.
  • Proficiency in handling corporate actions and other post-trade activities.
  • Ability to work with various stakeholders and interfaces.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with software and system upgrades.
  • Experience with GBST Shares™
  • Experience with Microsoft office products
Desirable:
  • RG-146 certification
  • Experience with GBST Shares™
  • Experience with GBST DCA™ or a similar options back-office system
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a stockbroking back-office role
  • Detailed knowledge of CHESS, Settlements, Options and Corporate Actions
