About the opportunity:
The University Secretariat, a business area of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, is seeking a Senior Secretariat Coordinator. The University Secretariat team, directed by the University Secretary, offers secretariat and administrative services to the University's governing bodies and committees, managing committee member support, elections, ceremonial aspects of graduations, governance policies, and ensuring governance best practice at the University of Canberra.
The Senior Secretariat Coordinator role provides secretariat and administrative services to the University Council, to Academic Board, and to their committees. The position offers an exciting opportunity to provide secretariat services, liaise with staff and committee members, and support the governance of the university. As a key member of the team, the role’s responsibilities include managing committee business, facilitating interactions with committee members and university staff, and ensuring compliance with the University's governance framework.
Your meticulous attention to detail, exceptional time management, and superior proof-reading and writing skills will be essential as you coordinate and prepare detailed committee meeting agendas and papers. In this role, professional interpersonal and communication skills are a must as you liaise with committee members and university staff, provide guidance on the university governance framework, and communicate complex matters and outcomes with clarity, always maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
