What you will be doing
As our Senior Ship Broker, you will be working alongside the chartering team. You'll be responsible for brokering deals / contracts for vessels. The (Sr) Shipbroker prepares and negotiates new and existing contracts of affreightment, and fixes spot cargoes in cooperation with Voyage Optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for identifying CoA orders, including but not limited to CoA feasibility study, preparation, negotiations, and reporting.
- Responsible for identifying SPOT orders, including but not limited to SPOT negotiations, fixtures and vessel nominations
- Manage customer relationships, also search for new customers by canvassing with brokers
- Analyze and review sales and marketing data, in order to identify market opportunities, new customers and research the competition
- Responsible for reviewing C/P terms
- Attend weekly RV Meetings, and conventions/ conferences at regular intervals each year
Qualifications
- 2-5 years post-graduate experience, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Stolt Tanker Trading or outside shipbroker experience with a Ship Owner or Ship Operator of Stolt Tankers; Tanker trading
- Operations, barging and demurrage experience
- Displays persistence with strong negotiation skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong commercial orientation
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred. Education in maritime specialty is preferred
- Computer proficient, with good knowledge of MS Office
