Senior Signal Engineer

About the Division / Team

Our Interstate network is responsible for the management of approximately 6,000km of track and servicing a broad range of supply chains. The team comprises more than 500 staff and 24 provisioning centres and depots, which continue to deliver major corridor maintenance works and projects across the country to increase the efficiency and capacity of Australia's rail network.

About the Opportunity

Manage the provision of inspection, testing, maintenance and minor renewals activities to ensure the operational availability of the signalling infrastructure and operational safe working systems in compliance with engineering standards and specifications.

  • Effective management of the delivery of signalling maintenance services including minor and major renewals, in accordance with ARTC requirements and statutory obligations applicable to the jurisdiction.
  • Provide technical support to Program Delivery Manager, Manager Asset Maintenance Services and Area Managers and signalling staff to ensure effective implementation of the corridor business plans and budgets for signalling infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the signal maintenance team to ensure operational reliability and availability of the signalling system.

About You

To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Rail Signalling.
  • Superior knowledge of signalling infrastructure and systems.
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, and or relevant industry experience.
  • Highly developed problem resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to Manage time effectively.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of auditing techniques
  • Up-to-date knowledge of latest signalling technologies.
  • Knowledge of Signalling Standards and Operational Rules.
  • Valid Signalling competencies from any organisation.
  • Experience in testing and commissioning activities, performing design reviews.
