The City of Sydney is seeking a skilled and experienced person to join the Social Programs team to support and contribute to A City for All, a City that is inclusive, connected, liveable and engaged.

The Senior Social Programs Officer is responsible for co-ordinating, designing, implementing and evaluating innovative evidence-based and outcomes focused city-wide SOCIAL PROGRAMS that address identified strategic directions and deliver social cohesion outcomes. Programs are informed by community development principles, best practice models, research, policy, strategy and emerging issues.

To be successful in this role you will have:
Â
- A social science or social work degree qualification, or extensive work experience in the social / community services or community development field
- Demonstrated skills and experience in:
- Community development practice, community engagement processes and a commitment to social justice.
- Designing, implementing and evaluating innovative evidence-based and outcomes focused programs within a community development context
- Designing and undertaking consultations with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Influencing diverse stakeholders in a complex environment to achieve outcomes
- High level communication and relationship management skills with the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- Current first aid certificate or willingness to undertake relevant training.
