Senior Software Engineer - Front End

CMC Markets are hiring! We are currently recruiting for a Senior Software Engineer (Front End Focused) to join the Stockbroking team as a member of the Platforms squad . This role will be based onsite in our Barangaroo office. Please note that this role is only open to Sydney based candidates with full working rights (Citizen/Permanent Resident).

Role
The purpose of this role is to assist with strategic projects, new feature development; including building the new Stockbroking Trading frontend which will include new features and application upgrades and maintenance. The team is moving towards a build and run model, where the squad has access to production via automated processes, to make changes as they see fit. This enables the squad to be more empowered and to own the solutions we build so they are enabled make the best decisions for it.
The role will be primarily focussed on writing frontend application code in React/TypeScript for the on-premises and cloud solutions. Knowledge of AWS, Cloud best practices are highly advantageous.
Please note that we operate onsite working and would need someone to come into our Barangaroo office 5 days per week.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Design and implement user interfaces using React.js, ensuring a seamless user experience across web and mobile devices.
Considerable experience in React and building scalable and maintainable enterprise applications using JavaScript/Typescript, HTML5, and CSS.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Develop reusable and modular React components that can be leveraged across different parts of the application.
Implement state management solutions (such as Redux) to efficiently manage application state.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate design concepts into responsive and interactive user interfaces.
Excellent knowledge of building solutions using AWS and cloud technologies.
Experience of C# enterprise level applications highly advantageous.
Knowledgeable of Build and Run operating model.
Desirable, knowledge of T-SQL including writing stored procedures, tables, indexes and performance tuning.
Desirable, experience in working with Entity Framework required.
AWS certification or experience highly advantageous.
Experience designing, delivering and maintaining 3rd party API implementations.
Understanding of Angular.js & Bootstrap.
Working knowledge with Git.
Confident to write unit tests, integration tests and end-to-end automation tests (Playwright test using typescript preferred) or your own work.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to test own work to an acceptable level.

React 4+ years experience.
TypeScript/JavaScript 7+ years’ experience.
C# 4+ years experience.
Jest unit testing 3+ years’ experience
Good understanding of C# or NodeJS, 3+ years’ experience.
MSSQL 2+ years’ experience.
AWS Certified or in-depth knowledge of AWS.
Entity Framework.
Comfortable with contributing to complex technical discussions.
Self-motivated individual who can take ownership of tasks.
Good understanding of user experience best practices
Recent practical hands-on development experience in an agile commercial environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
