Senior Software Engineer

Digistorm is a Gold Coast based, mid-size ed-tech business, specialising in the education industry for K-12 schools across the world. We now have a very exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Digistorm team from our Gold Coast office. Interested? Keep reading!  

Digistorm was acquired by Veracross in 2023. Veracross is a private-equity-backed leading Saas Edtech company that has grown 4x in size in 3 years and has consistent industry leading high retention rates. To date we have configured and deployed our product at over 1,000 leading private K-12 schools in over 20 countries. 

We have a role open for a talented Software Engineer to join the Product Engineering Team, to help build and maintain the products our clients love.  

You’ll work in an agile environment and will join one of our squads, made up of an Engineering manager, Software Engineers, a Product Designer, and a QA Specialist. You’ll mainly focus on the development and maintenance of the features and services of our school CRM. 

Using your programming expertise and deep understanding of modern web architecture and security best practices, you’ll help future-proof our well-established products.

• Programming well-designed, de-coupled, testable, and efficient code 
• Code reviewing your peers 
• Improving systems quality by identifying issues and common patterns 
• Continuously improving our development and deployment processes through automation and exploration 
• Providing solutions to complex problems  
• Investigating emerging technologies 

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree in related field of study 

• 4+ years of proven experience in a Software Engineering role or equivalent 
• Experience working with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP 
• Experience in PHP MVC frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony 
• Experience with Relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL 
• Experience in Javascript frameworks such as VueJS 
• Experience implementing large and highly scalable systems
