As part of our Integrated Supply Chain Transformation Program we have a newly created opportunity for a Senior Sourcing Manager.
You’ll work closely with the Logistics Acceleration lead, this role will play a critical part in the successful delivery of Project Horizon.
You’ll Identify, develop and build new supplier relationships to support the acceleration of the Pet Nutrition ANZ Supply Chain Strategy will be key, as will the Identification of alternative funding models to support significant automation and capital Investment.
This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to drive creative solutions to deliver significant benefit as we digitise our ANZ logistics operations.
What is the Integrated Supply Chain Transformation Program?
The program will create a more agile, efficient and resilient digital ecosystem with demand, plans, supply chains, factories, equipment and most importantly, our Associates, connected in real time.
This program (Project Horizon) will revolutionise Mars Pet Nutrition ANZ’s supply chain, unlocking value and efficiencies through aligned and optimised digital solutions.
What would be your key responsibilities?
  • Ideally you’ll be experienced in commercial negotiations in logistics ( freight and warehousing ) and a history of delivering outcomes via 3PL providers.
  • BEST PRACTICE Develop Logistics Category insights, benchmark and import best practices and ensure knowledge management retention and sharing. Ensures these practices are incorporated into the project.
  • STRATEGY Develop deep understanding of our business needs, external benchmarks
  • and category industry and people capabilities, to ensure excellence in execution of the ANZ Integrated Supply Chain project , driving innovation and challenge to bring competitive advantage to the business.
  • PARTERING Partner with the key Global, Regional and Local stakeholders to ensure alignment with the business requirements at all levels and across both Commercial and Supply functions.
  • FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION Delivers substantial value creation and contribution to project benefits
  • PROJECT AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT Ensures robust project and change management processes, right governance and escalation procedures.
  • TEAM Pro-active member of the Project team, demonstrating leadership and effective influencing to deliver project outcomes.
  • NEGOTIATION & CONTRACTING Lead the supplier identification and selection processes with responsibility for financial and contractual negotiation.
  • SUPPLIER PERFORMANCE RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (SPRM) Develops and maintains sustainable relationships with suppliers. Tracks, monitors and drives key supplier performance indicators across cost, service and quality and scope and puts corrective actions in place for continuous improvement.
  • CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY Implements and complies with standard processes and tools to ensure responsible, continuous and sustainable sourcing in line with Commercial & Supply policies, systems and controls.
  • TOOLS Applies a wide range of sourcing tools (e.g. negotiation, e-procurement, strategic collaboration, etc.) to define the best trading strategic approach for use when allocating business to suppliers.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor Level degree qualification, ideally in Business, Economics or Commerce or Finance
  • 10+years experience in FMCG organizations, preferably in Commercial, Logistics Procurement or Financial Management.
  • Exceptional network builder with strong negotiation skills and extensive networks external to Mars.
  • An experienced people influencer with strong collaboration skills, proven effectiveness in a matrixed environment, with multi-cultural and remote peers/ project teams
  • Multi-national corporate experience working across different time zones and geographies
  • Experience in leading and implementing new programs and initiatives
  • Proactive, self-starter who has a proven track record driving transformation change, ideally with a cross category or global scope.
  • Digitally savvy with involvement in commercial or logistics procurement operations with a significant digital reliance or of leading the deployment of relevant transformation programs with a significant digital component.
  • Excellent communications skills with proficient English language (both written and verbal)
