Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist - Anaesthesia (Talent Pool)Join a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional care to the community of Central Queensland while embracing a fulfilling lifestyle. As a Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist, you'll collaborate with Clinical Directors to ensure top-tier Specialist Anaesthesia services are delivered by CQHHS, maximizing efficiency and effectiveness within resource constraints.Your role will involve providing education and guidance to trainees, junior medical staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals, including nursing staff. Additionally, you'll oversee the daily operations of Anaesthesia services, actively contributing to patient safety initiatives, clinical audits, the investigation and resolution of adverse incidents and complaints, research endeavours, and service planning efforts.This role may be eligible for the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive. The position of Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist is to assist the Clinical Directors in:

  • Ensuring that Specialist Anaesthesia services provided by CQHHS are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources.
  • The education and supervision of trainees, junior medical staff, medical students and other health practitioners including Nursing staff.
  • The day-to-day management of Anaesthesia services including active participation in patient safety, clinical audit, investigation and management of adverse clinical incidents and complaints, research, and service planning activities.
About you:To be successful in this role you must have:
  • Mandatory qualification/s: MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Anaesthesia with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA). In general, this will require Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program of appropriate College.
What we offer:Salary Information (L18-L24):Total remuneration value of $427,113 p.a. is comprised of:
  • A salary between $204,206 - $237,196 p.a.
Salary Information (L25-L27):Total remuneration value of $514,421 p.a. is comprised of:
  • A salary between $244,201 - $258,910 p.a.
