The Role
A new opportunity has become available at the PTA in the role of Senior Transport & Land Use Planner within the PTA’s Infrastructure Planning and Land Services division. In this role you will contribute to the development and evaluation of strategies and plans for the public transport and land development around the rail network.The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing strategic advice about public transport, planning policy, developing and examining proposals for major transport initiatives.
The successful candidate will have:

  • Possession of an appropriate Planning or Engineering Degree.
  • Demonstrated recent experience in transport planning, preferably railway planning.
  • Well developed communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) including the ability successfully interact and gain cooperation with team members and other key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well developed coaching and mentoring skills and the ability to develop others.
  • Well developed research, conceptual and problem solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to focus strategically.
  • Well developed organisational skills including the ability to achieve agreed targets and timelines using effective self- management and teamwork.
There is one permanent full time position available for immediate filling. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
